Add Note to PDF — Annotate PDF with Sticky Notes, Arrows, Shapes, and Descriptions

Add Note to PDF Tool

This tool is used for marking up a PDF for review and feedback rather than “changing” it: you can add annotations like sticky notes, arrows, shapes, text descriptions, and highlights and save the PDF again. The essence is to clarify notes on documents such as contracts, proposals, reports, and drawings, like “correct this part,” “look here,” “this item is problematic” on the PDF.

[omer_pdf_annotate]

What does it do?

  • Adds sticky notes to the PDF (sticky note / comment).
  • Draws arrows and shapes on the PDF (line, arrow, rectangle, circle).
  • Adds text descriptions (callout, text box).
  • Performs text markings like highlight/underline/strikethrough (highlight, underline, strikethrough).
  • As output:
    • Commented PDF (annotations remain editable)
    • If you want, it can produce a static PDF by fixing notes with flatten annotations so that “everyone sees the same”.

Usage Flow

  1. Upload PDF
  2. Select the type of annotation from the toolbar:
    • Sticky note
    • Text box / callout
    • Arrow / line
    • Rectangle / circle
    • Highlight / underline / strikethrough
  3. Click-and-place on the PDF, drag-draw, resize
  4. Set style:
    • Color, line thickness, opacity
    • Font / size (in text notes)
  5. Save:
    • Download Commented PDF
    • (Optional) Flatten notes (flatten) → download static PDF

Detailed Features (the part that makes the tool “complete”)

1) Sticky Notes

  • Note title + content
  • Move note icon
  • Note list (all comments in a single panel): “Who wrote what?” logic

2) Arrows, Shapes, and Drawings (markup)

  • Arrow and line: direction, emphasis, showing flow
  • Shapes: framing the relevant area (rectangle), encircling (circle)
  • Freehand drawing option: quick sketching/marking

3) Text Marking (review)

  • Highlight: emphasize the text
  • Underline / strikethrough: correction/cancellation marks
  • Callout: explanation balloon like “revise this paragraph”

4) Sharing security: “Flatten annotations”

PDF comments may appear differently in some viewers or may hide recipient comments. Therefore:

  • “Commented PDF” (editable annotation)
  • It is correct to offer the option of “Flattened PDF” (notes fixed, same for everyone).

Usage scenarios

  • Agency / client: design approval, revision list
  • Legal: annotating contract items
  • Operations: marking actions on reports/plans
  • Internal team review: “review” cycle

FAQ (short, clear)

Can I edit the notes later?

Yes, in the “Commented PDF” output. If you choose “Flatten,” it gets fixed.

Does it change the content of the PDF?

No; this tool primarily adds annotations. Permanent content change (actually changing the text) is a separate job.

Are arrows/shapes visible on mobile?

Yes; standard PDF annotations are visible in most viewers. If you want full consistency, fix it with “Flatten.”
