Create ZIP (ZIP / RAR / 7Z Archiving)

This tool collects and compresses multiple files into a single archive file. The purpose is simple: smaller sizesharing with a single fileorganized archiving and, if necessary, password protection.

Arşiv Oluştur

Dosyalarınızı ZIP, TAR, TAR.GZ veya GZ formatında sıkıştırın. Birden fazla dosyayı tek arşive dönüştürün.

Dosyaları sürükleyin veya tıklayın Tüm dosya türleri desteklenir • Birden fazla dosya seçebilirsiniz

What does it do?

  • Converts multiple files into a single archive:
    • ZIP (highest compatibility)
    • 7Z (generally higher compression potential)
    • RAR (common, with strong additional features in some scenarios)
  • Offers compression settings:
    • Fast / Normal / Maximum (level)
  • Optional security:
    • Password encryption
    • (Optional) “hide file names” (especially a strong use in 7Z)

Note: AES-based encryption is common in ZIP and 7Z; the 7Z format explicitly supports AES-256 encryption.

Specification/application notes on the ZIP side are defined through PKWARE APPNOTE; details such as AES usage are included here.

How to use?

  1. Upload files (multiple select / drag and drop)
  2. Select Format: ZIP / RAR / 7Z
  3. Select Compression Level: Fast / Balanced / Maximum
  4. (Optional) Set a Password
  5. Create → download the archive

Format selection (user clear guide)

ZIP (most compatible)

  • Opens on almost every device/operating system.
  • There may be a need to choose between “old compatibility” and “strong encryption” (e.g., ZipCrypto vs AES). The compatibility difference between ZipCrypto/AES options in ZIP is specifically noted in 7-Zip interface documents.

7Z (high compression + strong encryption)

  • The 7Z format supports AES-256 encryption and methods that provide high ratios like “solid compression”.
  • Gives a “more serious” perception for jobs requiring password protection.

RAR (common ecosystem + damage tolerance approach)

  • RAR has features aimed at repairing damaged archives, such as “recovery record” (slightly increases archive size but provides recovery chance).

Features (fine-tuning that brings transformation)

1) Compression level

  • Fast: finishes quickly on large files, lower ratio
  • Balanced: ideal for most users
  • Maximum: smaller file, longer time

2) Archive organization

  • Protect files with folder/root structure
  • Automatic naming: archive-2026-01-02.zip like
  • “Keep folder name” option (critical especially in project deliveries)

3) Password and encryption

  • Set password + re validation
  • (If available) option to encrypt file names (very valuable in 7Z; even the file list becomes invisible)

4) Large file / long path name warnings (real-life breaking point)

On Windows, the classic path length limit is MAX_PATH ~260 characters; the user may experience “error while extracting”. This limitation is due to Windows API.

Therefore, a small warning text in the tool reduces the support burden after conversion: “Do not use a very deep folder structure, shorten file names.”

Use cases

  • Sending files in a single package without hitting email attachment limits
  • Agency deliveries: making design files + fonts + brief into a single archive
  • Marketplace/product content packages: images + descriptions + documents
  • Password-protected “custom” file sharing

FAQ

Should I choose ZIP or 7Z?

If you want compatibility, choose ZIP. If you aim for stronger encryption and higher compression, choose 7Z. (7Z’s AES-256 support is clear.)

Can encrypted ZIP be opened everywhere?

Compatibility may vary in some types of ZIP encryption (ZipCrypto/AES). Therefore, it would be correct to put clear option names like “Compatible encryption” and “Strong encryption” in the tool.

What if I get a ‘path too long’ error while extracting the archive?

This usually stems from Windows’ path length limit; shortening folder depth and file names solves the issue.
