What is the Dark Pattern Tool?

This tool allows you to enter a URL and perform dark pattern detection. In other words, it converts the site’s user manipulation detection needs into an automated ui ux audit flow without the user noticing. The aim is not to “lynch” but to capture the risks of deceptive design and user manipulation with concrete findings, showing “where, how, and with what pattern” it occurs.

How does it work? (Analysis via link)

  1. Enter the URL in the “Enter a Site” field (analysis via link).
  2. The tool scans the site and behaves like a dark pattern checker / website dark pattern scan, examining screen flows (site manipulation analysis, automated ui analysis).

  • Hidden checkbox detection: boxes like “additional service”, “subscription”, “advertisement permission” being pre-selected; consent manipulation.
  • Deceptive CTA detection: deceiving with button texts, confirmshaming, suppressing “the option you don’t want” with color/hierarchy.
  • Counting tricks: countdown trick, false countdown, fake urgency and fake scarcity; lies like “last 5 minutes”, “only 1 left in stock” for last product in stock.
  • Hidden fees: revealing shipping/service/commission at the last step; checkout manipulation and cart page deception.
  • Bait and switch / redirection trick: luring with different promises and pushing to another product/condition at the last moment.
  • Deceptive discount, fake discount, price anchoring: inflated “old price”, perception management with fake comparison price.
  • Cookie banner manipulation: hidden hidden reject button that conceals “reject”, dark consent flows (privacy dark patterns).
