PDF Form Filling Tool

This tool opens interactive PDF forms (especially AcroForm) in the browser, detects form fields, and allows the user to fill and save in the real form logic instead of “pasting text on top of the PDF.” AcroForms are the classic interactive form technology added to PDF and include components like text fields, checkboxes, radio buttons, lists, etc. 

What does it do?

• Automatically detects form fields: Extracts areas like text boxes, checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdown lists (combo/list).
• Fills fields: Type with the keyboard, select options, check.
• Saves: Produces a new PDF with filled values (does not alter the original file).
• (Optional but practical) Flatten output: If you want, you can make the filled fields “static” and download them in a way that reduces risks like field shifting/appearing empty in different viewers (form fields can no longer be edited). The “Flatten” approach is a common solution in the PDF ecosystem. 

Which types of PDF forms are supported?

• AcroForm (recommended / most compatible): The most common and seamlessly working form type in modern PDF viewers.
• XFA (dynamic forms) warning: XFA-based forms may have limited support in browser-based PDF viewers and many modern environments; Adobe notes that support for XFA in modern browsers is limited.

Usage Flow

1. Upload PDF
2. The tool extracts form fields and marks them on the page
3. Fill:
   • Text fields: name, date, address, description, etc.
   • Checkbox/radio: selections
   • Dropdown/list: options
4. Preview and validate: Quick check for mandatory fields left empty, overflowing texts, page-wise.
5. Save and download:
   • “Filled PDF” (form fields may still remain editable)
   • “Fill + Flatten” (static output)

FAQ

I am filling the PDF but some fields are not clickable. Why?

Most likely the file is a “flat” PDF (just visual/text) or based on XFA. AcroForms contain interactive fields. 

Can the fields appear empty when the other party opens the file I saved?

Some viewers may cause issues in form view; therefore, the “Fill + Flatten” output may be a safer option for sharing. 

Does this tool create forms?
